Friday's (April 8) serving of TV Snacks includes a lot of returns to TV and a few of them definitely out of the box.

Katherine Heigl is returning to TV for the first time since leaving "Grey's Anatomy" to produce and star in an HBO movie based on the bestselling novel, "The Knitting Circle." [ Deadline]

There is life outside of "Real Housewives." On "Celebrity Apprentice," NeNe Leakes proved it and even, cough, Danielle Staub has. And now former "Real Housewives of New Jersey's" Dina Manzo has her own show for HGTV. The series will follow her and her event planning company on the job. [ TVSquad]

In a very interesting show crossover, Sam Lloyd reprises his role as Ted from "Scrubs" for the "Cougar Town" finale on May 25. Apparently, he now lives in Hawaii and encounters the family there. Ultimately, he becomes "instrumental" in solving the family's dilemma. [ ABC]

The very funny star of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and the voice of Helen on "Life & Times of Tim," Edie McClurg, will be guest-starring on "Rules of Engagement" in May. [ TVGuide]
