Kathryn Morris and Skeet Ulrich return to CBS, plus more pilot casting news

Kathryn Morris ("Cold Case") and Skeet Ulrich ("Jericho") have landed roles in a pair of drama projects in the works at the network. Morris will star in "The Surgeon General," playing the title character's ( Jason Isaacs) chief of staff. It's her first series role since "Cold Case" ended in 2010.

Ulrich, meanwhile, has landed the lead in "Anatomy of Violence," a crime drama from "Homeland" producers Alex Gansa, Howard Gordon and Alex Cary. He'll play a psychiatrist who works for the FBI. His most recent TV work came on NBC's "Law & Order: LA."

More pilot casting:

- The CW's sci-fi pilot "The Hundred" has cast Thomas McDonell ("Suburgatory") in one of its lead roles. He'll play one of a group of juvenile delinquents who return to Earth 97 years after a nuclear war wipes out civilization to see if the planet is once again habitable.

- Karl Urban will star in FOX's J.H. Wyman/J.J. Abrams robot cop pilot as the human partner of a lifelike android ( Michael Ealy) in the LAPD.

- "Avatar" and "Terra Nova" star Stephen Lang has joined ABC's drama "Reckless" as the father of a woman ( Eloise Mumford) who disappears during a coup in an unstable country. Her husband ( Patrick Fugit) launches a desperate attempt to find her. [ Deadline]

- Meanwhile, the other pilot called "Reckless," this one at CBS, has cast Anna Wood ("Deception") as its female lead. She plays a defense lawyer from the North who becomes involved a Charleston, S.C., prosecutor ( Cam Gigandet) while they're opposing each other in a case.

- Christina Cole ("Hex," "Chaos") has joined Jason Lee's pilot "Second Sight" at CBS. She'll play a fellow detective and love interest for Lee's character.

- Kerry Bishe ("Argo," "Scrubs") has joined AMC's 1980s-set pilot "Halt & Catch Fire" as the wife of a computer engineer ( Scoot McNairy) at the start of the PC revolution. Bishe and McNairy also played husband and wife in "Argo."

- "Golden Boy" actress Stella Maeve has taken a lead role in The CW's "Company Town," about a scandal at a Navy base and the effect it has on two long-time friends, played by Maeve and Gage Golightly. [ Deadline]
