Katie Couric tweets 'Good Morning America' excitement

katie-couric-GMA.jpg Katie Couric is coming back to morning television, but it's not to NBC. It was announced Thursday (March 29) that the bubbly news anchor will be co-hosting "Good Morning America" all next week.

Couric will be filling in for the vacationing Robin Roberts and share hosting duties with regular George Stephanopoulos. On "GMA" Friday morning (March 30) when they made the announcement, Katie jokingly called George "Matt" - heh. That Katie, what a cut-up.

She also took to Twitter to express her excitement. Couric tweets:

  • "Rise + shine! Excited to be back on morning TV next wk, guest hosting @GMA w/ @GStephanopoulos. #KatieOnGMA"
  • "Thanks for all the kind words about my guest gig on @GMA! I'ill be keeping Robin's seat warm next week - Can't wait, George!"
  • "So....this happened. Never know who you'll run into at @GMA! #KatieOnGMA cc: @DJPaulyD" (she tweeted the above picture).

Katie's week-long hosting gig starts Monday, April 2. Are you excited, morning show viewers? If you're a regular "Today" watcher, will you be flipping over to "GMA" just for Katie?
