Katy Perry slams Kimye's 'Bound 2' video: 'Who You Love' is 'more authentic'
The battle of the relationship-driven music videos has begun. After Katy Perry and John Mayer debuted their "Who You Love" music video on "GMA," the pair visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Friday (Dec. 20) to continue their coupledom promotional tour, and the topic of "Bound 2" came up.
Ellen DeGeneres references her favorite recent bit of pop culture to make fun of, "Bound 2." She asks Perry if "Who You Love" was their response to the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West music video, to which Perry gives an appropriately snappy response.
"Yes. I thought our response was a little more authentic though, because my hair was blowing in the right direction," Perry deadpans.
Mayer, who had surprise-crashed the interview, adds, "Genius. This is why I don't need to talk at home. This is why voice message is just fine. You get these chestnuts [from Perry]."
The couple also unveiled their "secret" '70s music video, which can be viewed in all its kitschy glory below.
