Katy Perry's U.S. tour inspired by Pink, infused with 'beauty and purpose'

katy-perry-coachella.jpg Katy Perry has been very busy touring Europe, Asia, and Australia, but now she's bringing the show home to the US of A alongside supporting acts Robyn and Marina & The Diamonds.

Now that she's headlining, Perry is sparing no expense when it comes to... whipped cream. "A typical tour is three months, but we're going to the end of November," she tells PopDash. "It's nice to be able to expand and get out of the same same same. Now I can say, 'I want a machine that simulates the whipped-cream boobs from the California Gurls video.' I just want to keep things fresh, keep people on their toes and keep myself excited."

Perry herself is inspired by fellow pop star Pink, whose Funhouse tour was one of Perry's favorite concert experiences. "It had such a great balance of fun and heart," she says. "It wasn't just a dance party. There was beauty and purpose, and it was above and beyond any pop show I'd ever seen."

Pink may be a little too busy to attend Perry's show, though -- she welcomed her first child, daughter Willow, on June 2.
