Keith Urban announces 'Fuse' date, says he has no official 'American Idol' information

keith-urban-american-idol-album-fuse.jpgThe "American Idol" judges panel is once again in flux, though reportedly the show is looking to bring back three alumni to serve as judges, with Jennifer Hudson allegedly close to inking the first deal.

Season 12 judge Keith Urban says he has no new information, telling CBS News, "I have no official information of anything. "I'm pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. I don't know anything more about what's happening next season.

It was like this before I signed on ... so it's not unusual for the 'Idol' folks to be in this place of figuring out what they want to do, then they always pull it together."

For our money, even though it might be weird to have two alumni and Urban, we thought he was a fantastic judge this season and we'd like to see him return.

But if he doesn't return to "Idol," Urban has plenty of other things to keep him busy. He has revealed that Sept. 10 is the release date for "Fuse," his new album. He has until mid-July to finish up the album, as he leaves on tour later this summer.

The record has so far included collaborations with country music heavyweights Dann Huff, Jay Joyce, Nathan Chapman and rocker Butch Walker, which Urban says he loves.

"It's just been really creatively liberating to me. "I love collaborating. It's the thing I've always loved doing, whether it's writing or performing or being in the studio, I love the collaborative process. I think finding people's strengths is the thing I love the most," says Urban.
