Kerry Washington is 'In Crisis,' 'Lost' alum joins 'Ringer'
Kerry Washington has landed the lead role in "In Crisis," a Shonda Rhimes-written pilot at ABC. Washington ("Ray," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," "For Colored Girls") will play a crisis-management consultant who helps her clients get out of any number of messes. The pilot has also cast Columbus Short ("Stomp the Yard," "Studio 60") as one of her employees. [ Deadline]
"Lost" veteran Nestor Carbonell is joining Sarah Michelle Gellar in CBS' drama "Ringer." He'll play an FBI agent assigned to protect Gellar's character from a mob vendetta. In other casting news, Broadway actress Megan Hilty ("9 to 5") has joined NBC's "Smash," Anthony Carrigan ("The Forgotten") has signed on to a USA project called "Over/Under" and Kelen Coleman has been cast in Comedy Central's cop comedy "Playing with Guns." "Twilight: Eclipse" director David Slade is in talks to direct NBC's pilot "REM." The drama from "Lone Star" creator Kyle Killen is about a detective who is living in two parallel worlds after an accident. [ Variety]
