Kerry Washington's 'SNL' diversity cold open, Miss Universe 2013 and more of her best sketchesAdd to Favorites | Saturday Night Live
From her much talked about cold open to her Barack Obama "How's He Doing" sketch, Washington stole the show with her great and energetic performances. She showed off many facets of her comedic talent, and participated in the majority of the skits "SNL" had to offer.
In case you missed the episode or just want to relive some of its highlights, here are some of Washington's best moments from the night:
"SNL" diversity cold open
Washington's most buzzed about skit was also her first. In the segment, the "Django Unchained" star plays both Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey as a way to poke fun at "Saturday Night Live's" lack of black female cast members.
Scandalous opening monologue
You didn't think Washington would go an episode without referencing her hit ABC drama, did you? In her opening monologue, Washington plays herself as an Olivia Pope-type fixer for various "SNL" cast members.
"How's He Doing?"
What would it take for black voters to stop supporting Barack Obama? A whole hell of a lot, if Washington sketch with Jay Pharaoh and Keenan Thompson is any indication.
"My Girl," a "The Fox" cover
Somehow Pharaoh and Washington's take on Ylvis' "The Fox (What Does The Fox Say)" is almost catchier than the original.
Date or Diss?
Washington, as a dating show contestant, deadpans, "I've read all the books and I was born out of an egg." Enough said.
Miss Universe 2013
"SNL's" riff off the Miss Universe 2013 pageant gives some screen time to the types of contestants who likely won't be seen much during the actual competition, including Washington's Miss Uganda.
Career Week Speaker's assistant
Washington gets her sassiest as the assistant of emphatic Career Week Speaker Heshy Farahat.
