Kevin Williamson's FOX pilot: The only thing worse than a serial killer is a serial killer cult

kev-williamson-cwup.jpg Kevin Williamson brought us "Dawson's Creek" and "The Vampire Diaries," but before he was a teen-angst TV legend he was penning gruesome kills with "Scream" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

He's once again returning to his serial killer roots (that sounds worse than it is) with a new, as-yet untitled TV project.

Deadline reports that Williamson's high-stakes drama, from Warner Bros. and Williamson's Outerbanks Entertainment, has received a pilot commitment from FOX. The show is described as an "edge-of-the-seat thriller about a diabolical serial killer who uses technology to create a cult of serial killers." Of course, there's also a well-intentioned FBI agent involved.

Sounds like some feel-good family fare to us!

No word on how a potential new series may impact Williamson's position on "The Vampire Diaries" or "The Secret Circle." We'll cross that bridge if we get to it!
