Following the death of Kidd Kraddick (real name David Craddick) Saturday (July 27) at a charity golf tournament he hosts, fans and friends of his "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" radio show were in shock. When Monday morning rolled around, listeners tuned into the nationally-syndicated show, unsure of what to expect.
Starting an hour later than normal, co-host Kellie Rasberry began the show, commenting, "For the first time ever, we are 'Kidd Kraddick in the Morning' without Kidd Kraddick." Rasberry was joined by Kraddick's entire morning show cast for a shorter version of the program, with everyone sharing their thoughts and memories of Kidd, also opening up the phone lines for listeners to call in, Pegasus News reports.
"I love him, and I'm not saying love in the past tense. I'm really just heartbroken," Rasberry added during the show. There has been no announcement about what will become of "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning."
According to the Dallas Morning News, preliminary autopsy results show that Kraddick died from cardiac disease. "His heart was enlarged," Jefferson Parish Deputy Coroner Dr. Granville Morse says, "You have several vessels, and three were diseased -- the worst of which was 80 percent blocked." The cause of death won't be made official until the toxicology report is complete, which may take as little as a week. Kraddick was 53 years old.
