Kiefer Sutherland turns himself in to police

Kiefersutherland_fox_290 Kiefer Sutherland went to the New York City police himself Thursday after allegedly headbutting designer Jack McCullough at a party Monday night, reports the AP.

The "24" and his lawyers arrived in a Lincoln Town car to the precinct house in lower Manhattan. The actor, who is on probation for DUI, could be charged with misdemeanor assault.

The actor turned himjself in after a Monday night incident, which Sutherland, 42, claims he was defending actress Brooke Shields' from McCullough who allegedly bumped her. Shields later denied that the designer did anything to her.

McCullough has lacerations on his face from the attack. Shields may be questioned as a witness to the kerfuffle.
