Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries: Divorce papers filed, Kim K. goes her own way

kim-kardashian-kris-humphries-married.jpgAfter just 72 days of marriage and two very special wedding episodes of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," Kim Kardashian has apparently decided to file from divorce from husband Kris Humphries.

TMZ first reported that Kardashian planned to file divorce papers Monday (Oct. 31) morning, citing "irreconcilable differences." The site also reports that Kardashian has hired Laura Wasser, the attorney who repped Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Ryan Reynolds and Robyn Gibson (Mel's ex) in their splits.

Ryan Seacrest (of course) later confirmed the split via Twitter (of course), writing, "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her."

Rumors that all was not well in the Kardashian/Humphries love nest have been circulating since the couple wed on Aug. 20 in Montecito, Calif. in a wedding that reportedly cost somewhere in the range of $10 million.

Just two weeks ago, the New York Post's Page Six reported that there was trouble brewing.

"One source tells us, 'Kim isn't willing to change her life, she works hard and cannot take any time out. And she doesn't have time for his friends.' Another source said, 'After the wedding, Kim and Kris started filming ['Kourtney & Kim Take New York'] right away, they haven't even been home yet. They haven't had any time to settle in together ... It's hard for them to be alone and have any quality time together. Most newlyweds would struggle with that.'"

Over the weekend, Kardashian hosted a party by herself, reports People, telling the magazine that her husband wasn't around because she was headed to Australia this week. Which makes all sorts of sense.
