Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries have reportedly settled their nasty year-and-a-half long divorce battle out of court. The judge will be notified of the settlement at a hearing Friday (April 19).
Humphries was supposed to show up in court Friday to face possible sanctions for bailing on a court date the previous week. But sources tell TMZ the Brookyln Nets forward will not show his face. Instead, he's with his team preparing for NBA playoffs. Kim, however, is expected to be on hand.
Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries in Oct. 2011, after a 72-day marriage. Humphries has been holding out on a settlement, demanding an annulment from Kim on the basis of fraud. He alleged the marriage was a sham for publicity purposes and wanted a cool $7 million for his troubles.
The settlement will likely remain undisclosed, but Kim has made her frustrations clear on many occasions about the lengthy and drawn-out legal process. She is getting ready to have Kanye West's baby in July, and is still legally married to Humphries. Kris' case had weakened in recent days after a judge denied a motion to speed up a request for access to Kim's emails. Perhaps he saw his chances at annulment dwindling, and Kim finally opened up her wallet to close this chapter of her life.
The couple's divorce trial was scheduled to get underway May 2.
