Kirstie Alley gets a show: 'Kirstie's New Show' gets green light at TV Land

The "Dancing With The Stars" alum has found a new home on TV Land. On the sitcom, she'll play Broadway star Madison Banks. Also starring will be Rhea Perlman, her former "Cheers" co-star, "Seinfeld's" Michael Richards, and Broadway's Eric Petersen.

Maddie Banks finds her life turned upside-down when her son, Arlo (Petersen), who she gave up at birth, looks to reconnect with her. He's not exactly what she imagined he'd be -- described as "nerdy and schlubby," Arlo stands out against her glamorous lifestyle. Her assistant/BFF Thelma (Perlman) and driver Frank (Richards) encourage her to give him a chance.

"This cast is a TV Land dream team of stars. Seeing them all together is truly mind-blowing," said TV Land President Larry W. Jones. "This series pick-up reaffirms our commitment to making broadcast quality original programming for a network whose brand stands for timeless entertainment."
