kris-jenner-explains-north-west-baby-name-gi.jpg Kris Jenner has finally explained the reason her daughter Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West bestowed the ridiculous sounding name North West upon their precious newborn girl.

Jenner stopped by "The View" to chit-chat with Barbara Walters and friends about her new talk show and her new granddaughter, and Walters asked her first thing what she thinks of the silly sounding name. "I mean it's funny, but do you want your child named North West," Barbara asks. "I love the name North," Jenner responds. "I'm pro-North, absolutely."

Kris says the way Kim explained it to her mom is as such: "North means 'highest power,' and [Kim] says that North is [Kim and Kanye's] highest point together. And I thought that was really sweet." Weird, because when we check the dictionary, it doesn't define North that way.

When Walters' co-host Joy Behar pushes on about the name, Jenner points out, "You don't walk around calling somebody, 'Hi, North West.' You know, it's just North."

While on "The View" couch, Jenner also revealed the set for her talk show, which debuts July 15 on FOX, will be a replica of the foyer in her mansion. Earlier, Jenner appeared on the "Today" show and told Matt Lauer Kim and the rest of her brood would be frequent guest son the show, and that she will use the format to set the record straight on Kardashian family rumors.
