Kristen Stewart topless 'On the Road' scenes: 'So not a big deal'

kristen-stewart-on-the-road.jpg"On The Road" was a provocative book, so it makes sense that the film version pushes some boundaries. Kristen Stewart appears topless in a few scenes in the film, and says that because of the material in the novel, she felt that the nudity was organic to the story. She also credits director Walter Salles with making her comfortable on set for the nude scenes.

"It didn't bother me," she tells MTV News. "You can do no wrong with [Salles]. He puts so much inside of you. In the four-week rehearsal process, it was okay to ask any question, to bring up any story, to really overanalyze everything and intellectualize everything.

"Once we got on set, it was so about just breathing and letting it happen. He put so much trust in us," she adds. "So it was like, 'OK, so I have to take my clothes off?' It's so not a big [deal]."

Though Stewart signed on to do the film at only 17 years old, she was obviously older by the time the scenes were shot. "I should have definitely been older than 17 while playing this part, absolutely," she says. "[My performance] would have been done very differently if I was younger. I wouldn't have played the part, obviously."

Though baring her breasts didn't make her nervous, one scene in the film did freak Stewart out -- the dancing. ""That scared me so much, especially the way it comes in the book. It's just one little line. Dean grabs Marylou, and they do a love dance. People watch, and then it's on to the next thing. They toss her around," she says. "What is a love dance, you know what I mean? That's so intimidating. I don't dance."
