Lady Gaga on her weight gain: 'Adele is bigger than me'
Lady Gaga has gained weight. It's not something she is denying. In fact, the Mother Monster has come out and admitted she's dieting after packing on 25 pounds. But Gaga is a little bit peeved that such a hullaballoo has been made over her weight gain.
"When I heard it was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election -- I just thought, 'This is f**king ridiculous'," she tells Stylish UK, via AceShowBiz. "I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home? I thought, well I don't really care if they think I'm fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds."
In fact, Gaga is a little annoyed that so much focus has been placed on her size instead of another successful pop star: Adele.
"Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it?" she says, before adding, "She's so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of woman. I need to be a confident woman and just say politically active things when I can that are helpful to young people."
While Gaga has some valid points here, the name game doesn't seem like the right avenue to go in this situation. Considering the Mother Monster is someone who has battled her own body issues in the past, she should know better than to try to shift the focus to someone else. What do you all think of Lady Gaga's comments?
