lady-gaga-kermit-muppets-holiday-special-gi.jpgChristmas has come early with word that Lady Gaga and the Muppets are joining forces for a holiday television special.

E! News reports that Mother Monster and the beloved puppets recently filmed a special to celebrate the holiday season, set to air on ABC. Details on the special are scant, beyond the knowledge that the production took place in Los Angeles.

This won't be the first time Gaga and the Muppets have teamed up. The pop star attended the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards with none other than Kermit the Frog as her date, while her 2010 Monster Ball tour featured pieces created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. And one can't forget the infamous outfit she once wore on German television made entirely of plus Kermit toys.

Also not a first for the singer? A network television holiday special. In 2011, Gaga hosted and directed "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving," which also aired on ABC, during which she debuted a jazzy cover of "White Christmas" and her duet with Tony Bennett, a cover of "The Lady is a Tramp."
