A television adaptation of actress Lauren Graham's book might soon show up on The CW. Graham ( "Parenthood," "Gilmore Girls") has been adapting the novel, "Someday, Someday," in collaboration with Ellen DeGeneres' A Very Good Production company.

The debut novel from Graham tells the story of a young woman living in New York City who has only six months remaining in her three-year plan to make it as an actress. In June, it was announced that Graham would adapt the book into a screenplay to be shopped as a one-hour drama.

Warner Bros. Television and A Very Good Production made a deal to develop the project, with DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman set to executive-produce alongside Graham. With The CW's commitment (first reported by EW.com) to the project, it is now set that Graham will write the pilot episode.

There is a distinct possibility that Lauren Graham's involvement in the project will decrease dramatically after the pilot episode, considering her ongoing role as one of the stars of NBC's "Parenthood." "Someday, Someday" was published in April and spent time on the New York Times bestseller list.
