Harry Connick Jr. will guest-star in four episodes of the long-running NBC drama this season as a new executive ADA named David Haden. His first episode is scheduled to air Jan. 18.

Benson ( Mariska Hargitay) doesn't know what to make of the new prosecutor at first, but the two soon develop some chemistry, inside and out of the office. In making the announcement Friday (Jan. 6) at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, NBC played a brief clip of the two of them, and there was definite heat on screen.

Connick also joked on tape that he's excited to play the part because "I get to talk like an educated person."

NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt also reiterated that Hargitay will be in every episode this season, and in the filmed piece she told Connick she's "having too much fun" not to return next season as well.

"SVU's" first episode of 2011 airs Wednesday.
