Of course Ryan Murphy was the architect of any on-screen "Glee" romances, but was the show's executive producer responsible for some real-life love as well?

According to Lea Michele, Murphy was indeed the matchmaker who brought about the romance between her and "Glee" costar Cory Monteith.

Both Michele and Murphy confirmed their opinions on this at the PaleyFest Icon Award presentation in Beverly Hills on Wednesday (Feb. 27). When talking to E!Online, Lea Michele started the conversation by attributing her romance to Murphy: "Yes, I would definitely say he is my matchmaker for sure," the actress said.

Ryan Murphy, at the Paley Center to accept the Icon Award for his work on "Glee," "Nip/Tuck," "American Horror Story" and "The New Normal," agreed with this assessment. "I directed them in their first scene together and they had that sort of chemistry that you can't fake, and I said, 'Uh-oh.' So I did kind of know. I take credit."

Although the show hinted at a relationship between Michele and Monteith's characters, Rachel and Finn, as early as the pilot episode, the two stars did not actually begin dating until early 2012.
