Lea Michele tapped for 'America the Beautiful' at Super Bowl XLV

lea-michele-peta-gi-450.jpgSongstress Christina Aguilera is already booked to sing the National Anthem, but now E! News is reporting that "Glee" songbird Lea Michele is taking on "America the Beautiful." The Black Eyed Peas are the halftime headliners, making them the first act under the age of 45 since the Justin Timberlake-Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" in 2004. We're sure Lea is going to do a beautiful job.

"Glee" also gets the coveted post-Super Bowl TV timeslot, which over the years has brought in huge ratings for shows, ranging from 17.4 million for "Alias" in 2003 to "Friends" at 52.9 million in 1996. Any numbers in that range would be good for "Glee," though we're sure they are hoping for closer to "Friends" than "Alias."

Super Bowl XLV airs live on FOX. Pre-game coverage starts at 2 p.m. ET, with the actual game set for 6 p.m. ET. Who ya got, Steelers or Packers?
