Those reports of Leah Remini leaving the Church of Scientology seem to be true. The former "King of Queens" star released a statement following an initial claim that the longtime Scientology supporter opted to leave the religion.

"I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support," she says.

While Remini doesn't flat-out acknowledge her split from the religion, there has been an outpouring of support since people learned that she decided to leave Scientology and she seems to be recognizing and validating it. The decision for her departure seems to have come after Remini was interrogated extensively for asking Church leader David Miscavige where his wife Shelly Miscavige was at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' 2006 wedding. Shelly has reportedly only been seen once publicly since that event.

Remini seemed to be hinting at a big life change on her Twitter feed in the weeks leading up the report's release. She frequently retweeted posts about forgiveness and "learning as I go." On June 23 she seemed to describe herself as Catholic and her most recent tweet reads, "The God who existed before any religion counts on you to make the oneness of the human family known and celebrated. - Desmond Tutu."
