According to Vulture, "Bunheads" star Buntain will take over the role in the new film, which takes place ten years after the original, which saw Carrie's twin brother Corey die after being poisoned by his mother ( Heather Graham). Graham and Ellen Burstyn will reprise their roles in "Petals on the Wind."

The film is based on the V.C. Andrews book of the same name, the second in her "Flowers in the Attic" series. "Once Upon a Time" actress Rose McIver is taking over the lead role of Cathy from Kiernan Shipka, while "Pretty Little Liars" actor Wyatt Nash will play Christopher in place of Mason Dye.
