Lindsay Lohan 'devastated' by 'Liz & Dick' negative reviews
"Liz & Dick" is now upon us, and the movie is not getting the kind of glowing reviews that Lindsay Lohan had hoped for. In fact, Lifetime's take on Elizabeth Taylor's life has gotten negative reviews from both critics and Zap2it fans, and one of the main complaints leveled at the project was Lohan's bad acting.
The 26-year-old allegedly takes that news as a major blow to her confidence, especially considering she was hoping "Liz & Dick" would help her bounce back on the Hollywood scene. A friend close to Lohan claims the actress is "devastated" by how much many people didn't like her movie.
"Lindsay is devastated by the response to the film," the source tells The Huffington Post. "She has got used to all the negative press around her personal life but this is the first time she has experienced it about her work. No matter how bad things were going for her personally, everyone would always agree that she was a great actress."
During an interview prior to "Liz & Dick's" premiere, Lohan admitted that she is refocusing on her acting career because it's "safer that way." She said that her portrayal of Taylor in "Liz & Dick" was the first step of that plan.
"I hope that my love for acting shows through and that people really see that, and I hope that they enjoy the portrayal. I did the best that I could," she told "Good Morning America." "I'm in a great place. I just want to move forward. Keep working."
