Lindsay Lohan lied to police and could be sent back to jail after car crash
However, there are some shady details. TMZ reports that Lindsay initially lied to police and told them that she was not driving the Porsche -- her assistant was. Both she and her assistant exited the car from the passenger side door. Later, Lindsay and the assistant admitted that Lindsay was indeed behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
Because lying to a police officer is illegal, Lindsay's lie could trigger a probation violation on the necklace theft case from last year.
She also claimed that the truck caused the accident by cutting her off, and later changed her story, explaining that the brakes on the rental car failed despite having been replaced days earlier.
Additionally, the driver of the truck claims that Lindsay's lawyer removed a pink bag from her car before police arrived at the scene of the accident and asked him not to speak to the media or the cops about the bag. The driver has lawyered up and may be seeking damages.
