Lionel Richie gets BET Award lifetime achievement (and they spell his name wrong)

lionel-richie-2014-bet-awards-lifetime-achievement.jpgLionel Richie won a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 BET Awards ceremony, hosted by Chris Rock, and gave an excellent performance of some of his greatest hits. There was only one snag: They spelled his name wrong.

As Richie took the stage to accept the trophy, the on-screen chyron spelled his last name with a "t" -- "Ritchie" instead of "Richie."

Hopefully they got the name right when they engraved his award.

Check out Richie's phenomenal tribute performance below, which includes John Legend, Ledisi and Yolanda Adams -- and of course the man himself.
