TV personality Lisa Ling has been diagnosed with ADHD at the late age of 40. The "Our America" host received the diagnosis during an episode of the OWN show.

"If I'm not working, my mind goes in every direction except where it's supposed to go. I've always been that way," Ling says in the episode. Because of this revelation, she undergoes tests that determine ADHD and gets the clear result that she has the neurological condition. Considering that 15 million people in the United States are believed to have ADHD, the only shock is it took so long for Ling to find out.

"While the diagnosis confirmed what I had always expected, I don't feel inhibited, rather I feel I have more clarity," Ling says. Since she is a functioning adult, it's unlikely that the diagnosis of ADHD will in fact change the host's life significantly.
