LOL, Muffin Top make it into the Oxford English Dictionary
The latest update also includes some "noteworthy initialisms" -- including "LOL" (laughing out loud), "OMG" (Oh my god), "FYI" (for your information), "TMI" (too much information), "IMHO" (in my honest opinion) and "BFF" (best friends forever). IMHO, LOL and OMG should have been added a long time ago. But maybe that's TMI.
"La-la-Land" ("referring either to Los Angeles or a state of being out of touch with reality -- and sometimes to both simultaneously." Hmm.) also made the cut, Along with "dot-bomb" (a failed Internet startup) and "couch surfing" ("the practice of spending the night on other people's couches in lieu of permanent housing.").
Some of the more Brit-centric terms added to the dictionary included "cream-crackered" ("rhyming slang for 'knackered,' that is exhuasted) and "lashed"/"the lash" (engaged in a bout of drinking).
The OED online lists this year's full roster of additions.
