longmire-canceled-season-3-ae.jpgA&E has canceled its most-watched original drama series, "Longmire" after three seasons. According to Deadline, the studio is shopping a potential Season 4 to other outlets.

"We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of 'Longmire,' along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling," says a network rep in a statement. "We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together."

"Longmire" was the highest-rated series on A&E behind the network's reality hit "Duck Dynasty," although its viewers, on average, are an older demographic than the network's "Bates Motel."
