'Lost's' Evangeline Lilly on 'The View': She lost the Sawyer letter when her house burned down

evangeline-lilly-the-view.jpg Evangeline Lilly stopped by "The View" on Tuesday, May 11 to dish about the upcoming series finale of ABC's "Lost."

The ladies of "The View" want to know why "Lost" is such a phenomenon. "It's one of the only shows in television that actually addresses the biggest questions of life," is Evangeline's answer. "'Why are we here?' 'What is our purpose? 'Is there an afterlife?' 'Is there a God?' 'Is it all about science?' Those are big questions and usually TV is a little scared to go there. And we go there."

Lilly agrees that the show does try to confuse the viewers instead of giving answers to these big questions, because if they gave answers then the show would be "like an exclusive cult religion, as opposed to making you think 'What do I think?'"

The secrecy surrounding the final three episodes is brought up and Evangeline divulges that she "had to have a lockbox attached to [her] house so they could deliver [her] scripts." Wow, that's hard core.

Finally, Joy Behar asks if Evangeline stole anything from the set and Lilly confesses, "I stole something in season 1 or 2. I stole ... the original Mr. Sawyer letter. I stole that. I had it. And then my house burned down. For real."

Whoopi insinuates it's because the island was mad at her for taking something from the set. Ha! Check out the full interview below.
