'Louie' picked up for Season 4 on FX, 'Wilfred' also likely to returnAdd to Favorites | Louie
Its current Thursday-night companion, "Wilfred," is likely to return too, FX says, but a deal isn't in place yet.
"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to bestow on 'Louie' or the work Louis C.K. is doing," FX president and general manager John Landgraf says in a statement. "With this series, he has changed the form and is doing truly groundbreaking, landmark work that is inspiring a whole new generation of artists. Simply put, he is making one of the best shows anywhere on television."
C.K. was nominated for Emmys for acting, writing and directing on "Louie," though the show didn't make the field for best comedy series. It's averaging about 1.9 million viewers per episode (including DVR use) this season, 1.3 million of whom fall in the 18-49 demographic.
As for "Wilfred," Landgraf told reporters Saturday (July 28) he's "optimistic" for both a third-season pickup and a long series run. He can't announce anything yet, though, because "we have some deal issues to work out."
