'Louie' Season 4: Filming starts in the fall for spring 2014 premiere
It's been about eight months since Louis C.K. and FX announced that "Louie" would take an extended hiatus to allow C.K. to recharge his creative batteries. At a press briefing Thursday (June 6), FX Networks president of original programming Eric Schrier told Zap2it that the network is still targeting a spring 2014 premiere for Season 4 of the series -- and that C.K., who writes, directs and edits the show in addition to starring, is getting ready to film in the fall.
"He's doing great," Schrier says. "We've heard that he's written all the scripts."
Part of C.K.'s deal with FX is that he has near-complete creative control over "Louie," so executives don't usually see what he's working on until he turns in episodes. "We don't want to know," FX CEO John Landgraf says.
"It's great for us," Schrier adds. "Sometimes he'll call us and ask us questions, but I talked to Blair Breard, who produces it -- I was talking to her about something else, but she's gearing up. They're going to shoot all fall."
So that means only another eight (or nine) months of waiting.
