Louis C.K. will make new shows for FXAdd to Favorites | Louie
The Emmy-winning creator/star/director/everything else of "Louie" has signed a development deal with FX Productions, the studio arm of FX Networks. He and his company, Pig Newton, will develop and produce new shows for FX Networks in addition to "Louie," which is set to return in May.
"Working with Louis C.K. has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of my career," FX CEO John Landgraf says in announcing the new deal. "... So many incredibly talented artists want to work with Louis and follow down the independent and idiosyncratic creative trail he has blazed. I can't wait to see who he brings through our door, not to mention any new projects that he wants to create for us."
Under the deal, C.K. and his company will develop projects for FX and FXX, with C.K. having the option to write or direct any of them. He'll also be credited as an executive producer on the new projects, and fellow "Louie" producer Blair Breard will also serve as either an EP or a producer.
C.K. won a writing Emmy for "Louie" in 2012 and has also taken home writing honors in each of the past two years for his stand-up specials "Live at the Beacon Theater" and "Oh My God."
