'Mad Men': Jon Hamm signs on for 3 more years

Deadline reports that the actor has signed a new three-year deal with the AMC's "Mad Men." The deal, which is in the eight figures, makes Hamm one of the highest-paid actors in a cable series.

Hamm's previous contract was only for two more seasons. His new deal significantly raises his pay in exchange for one year added to his contract.

The show's creator Matthew Weiner recently closed a three-year deal with AMC and Lionsgate TV worth $30 million, which pretty much ensures a seven-season run for the hit drama. Hamm was AMC's top priority after locking Weiner in and other cast members are expected to receive salary increases in exchange for longer contracts.

"Mad Men" is set to return in 2012.
