'Mad Men' Season 6 Blu-ray first look clip explains the Drapers' apartment design

"Mad Men" won't return to AMC with Season 7 until Spring 2014, but fans can still spend some time with Don Draper and the staff at Sterling Cooper & Partners before then. The "Mad Men" Season 6 Blu-ray will be released on Nov. 5, and Zap2it has an exclusive first look at a clip from the special features.

This snippet from the "Recreating an Era" featurette explains a bit of the thought behind the design of Don and Megan Draper's apartment. Part of the intent was to give a cool upscale vibe, while the other part was differentiating Don's new married life apartment from his previous bachelor pad one.

"We were also coming out of the apartment he was living in at the end of Season 4, and this was clearly intended to be a contrast in a willingness to embrace the money that he had, have an upscale place for him and his bride to live it up in the big city," the clip explains. "The level of craftsmanship that our guys were able to do is a little more above and beyond."

The three disc Blu-ray and four disc DVD Season 6 sets include other bonus materials including a "Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out" featurette and a "Summer of Love Archives" interactive featurette. The suggested retail price for each set are $49.97 and $49.98, respectively.

What do you think of the Drapers' apartment compared to the show's other sets? Which set is your favorite?
