Madonna cuts daughter Lourdes' scene from 'W.E.'

Madonna-and-Lourdes.jpg Madonna cut her daughter Lourdes Leon's scene from her upcoming film, "W.E." Ouch, Mamma Madonna. That's harsh! "I just kind of dragged her in at the last minute. It was quite unfair of me what I did and what I asked her to do," Madonna said.

The film is about the love affair between American divorcee Wallis Simpson and Britain's Prince Edward, who abdicated the throne for her. You'll remember that story from last year's Oscar winner, "The King's Speech." This is the singer's second effort at directing after 2008's "Filth and Wisdom." W.E. will be released (in what we're assuming is a strategic move) on February 3rd, two days before her big performance at the Super Bowl halftime show.

""There was a scene where she played Wally as a young girl ... But she was really great and then I ended up cutting her out of the film. Ruthless, I know," Madge tells MTV. "I said, 'Sorry babe, you're on the cutting room floor.' She took it like a champ." The older Wallis is played by Abbie Cornish.
