Madonna slams M.I.A. for Super Bowl bird flip

mia-finger-sb-getty.jpgIt was hardly a wardrobe malfunction, but M.I.A. didn't really pick up many fans when she flipped her middle finger at the camera while performing as part of Madonna's halftime show extravaganza.

And she even have lost one very important fan: Madonna.

Friday (Feb. 10) on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Madonna talked about the incident -- which has kind of overshadowed her performance.

"I was really surprised," Madonna tells Seacrest. "I didn't know anything about it."

"I understand it's punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity, it seemed negative," says Madge. "It's such a teenager-irrelevant thing to do."

"She wasn't thinking," a member of M.I.A.'s team tells The Daily Mail. "It wasn't any kind of statement."
