Madonna's MDNA tour costumes include 'Super Vixen' and 'Joan of Arc' ensembles

madonna-joan-of-arc-tour-costume.jpg Madonna's MDNA tour kicked off Wednesday (May 30) in Tel Aviv, Israel and in grand Madonna tradition, the Material Girl is flaunting some fierce fashions for her latest globe-trotting stretch. Designers used include Jean Paul Gaultier, Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang, Dolce & Gabbana, Fausto Puglisi and shoes from Prada and Miu Miu.

The show outfits include intimates from Madonna's Truth or Dare line and some throwbacks to 1990-era Madonna on her Blond Ambition world tour.

"It's a real journey from the first act to the fourth, and the way she constructs her shows is like a theater piece," costume designer and stylist Arianne Phillips tells Women's Wear Daily.

"This show is epic and bigger than anything she's done before. There are many more costume changes. We're taking 700 shoes on the road. Madonna changes outfits seven or eight times and the dancers change 10 to 15 times, depending on the dancer," adds Phillips.

Above, you can see Madonna's mock-up for her Joan of Arc-inspired look fashioned from metal mesh and Swarovski crystals. Below are the "Majorette" look and the "Super Vixen" ensemble.
