Is Malia Obama going to be the next big name in TV? The daughter of President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama got her start in show business working as a production assistant for the upcoming CBS series "Extant."

According to a report from The Wrap, the president's elder daughter spent a day on the set of the Halle Berry science-fiction series during the second week of June. "She helped with the computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take," an insider tells the site.

It sounds like the 15-year-old Malia only worked for a day but the girl reportedly enjoyed the experience she called "a big deal." There has been no official comment on the job from CBS or from the White House.

"Extant" is a sci-fi series from Steven Spielberg in which an astronaut (Berry) returns home from a long solo mission -- but somehow she is mysteriously pregnant. CBS will premiere the show Wednesday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
