'Malibu Country': Will you return to Reba McEntire's new home?
As we noted in our review, "Malibu Country" can't compare to the highbrow humor offered in other Emmy-winning comedies like "30 Rock" and "Louis C.K.," but the charismatic country crooner and Lily Tomlin, her delightfully droll co-star, still entertain despite the predictable and often corny script.
As Tomlin told reporters at the TCA Press Tour this summer, "I thought this character would be an opportunity...Lillie Mae's part was to be audacious, outrageous, to say it like it was. She's willing to experiment and try anything, where Reba is kind of shut down. Lillie Mae's anything but. I hope she'll even be a bad influence on the kids. I can see her getting involved in anything in the world."
