Mandy Moore lands a new pilot: 'The Advocates' with Ben McKenzie

Moore, who departed "Pulling" after agreeing with the show's producers that the role wasn't a great fit for her, has landed at "The Advocates," a drama project at CBS, Deadline reports. She joins "Southland's" Ben McKenzie in the cast.

"The Advocates," from "The Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller, stars Moore as a lawyer who teams up with an ex-con (McKenzie) to work as victim advocates, skirting the edges of the law to do right by their clients. Her casting comes less than a week after she left "Pulling" ( Kristen Schaal replaced her).

Moore has been attached to a couple of pilots in recent seasons, but they haven't gone to series.
