Mariah Carey joining 'X Factor,' says Simon Cowell: But will she be a judge?
"I think Mariah will have a role on the live shows," executive producer Simon Cowell told Jackie Brown, a Spokane, Wash. radio host. "Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with."
What does that mean? Cowell didn't elaborate. Also, we think we could've come up with that given time and long-term proximity to Nick Cannon.
"She'll be involved in some form," added Cowell. "I literally adore her. I love her to bits."
Perhaps the mom-to-be (she's expecting twins in May) didn't want to commit to a full-on judgeship. After all, it's a huge time suck and probably not the ideal gig for a new mom. But having her appear from time to time as an uber-judge could keep her involved and open to a larger role in the show in the future.
So far, L.A. Reid is the only confirmed judge.
