Mariah Carey: Nick Cannon 'stable,' will leave hospital in 2 days
"Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days," she tweets. "As always he's laughing and in good spirits."
The singer and new mom also tweeted out a new picture of Cannon in his hospital bed, surrounded by balloons and flowers.
Cannon was hospitalized for kidney failure over the New Year's weekend while vacationing in Aspen, Colo. He's since been transferred to a hospital closer to home in Los Angeles. On Friday, Cannon also tweeted out a photo (below) and message, saying he "just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure." There's no other reference to a procedure, though, so we're not sure what it was.
According to one doctor who spoke to the Los Angeles Times, acute kidney failure can go unnoticed in some patients until it becomes painful enough for a hospital visit.
"Almost every organ in your body, every system is affected, Dr. Madeleine Pahl, chief of nephrology at UC Irvine Medical Center, tells the Times. "So you are retaining fluid and you might swell."
