Mark Wahlberg wants to be the next Iron Man
In a new interview with Yahoo UK Movie News, Mark Wahlberg admits that he'd like to step into Tony Stark's super suit in the future.
"I would like to take over the 'Iron Man' franchise for Robert Downey," Wahlberg says, "[but] it's one of those things where I know of like playing real people, [so] I've never been asked." (Downey has hinted that he may not be long for the Marvel universe.)
However, in the very same interview, Wahlberg also makes it perfectly clear that he's not the world's biggest CGI fan. "You know, there's so many effects-driven movies," he adds. "People haven't been wowed by effects since 'Jurassic Park' or 'Perfect Storm' with the wave, you know? It's like now everybody does everything. It's all kind of the same s***. They're recycling a lot of the stuff."
We're not sure what, exactly, he thinks makes Iron Man fly, but it seems he might not like the answer.
Do you think Wahlberg would make a good Tony Stark?
