Martha Stewart joining Match.com: 'I'd like to have breakfast with somebody'Add to Favorites | Today
She agreed on Monday (April 29) to join Match.com and receive expert advice and tips from its chief executive, Sam Yagan.
"I'd like to have breakfast with somebody. I'd like to go to bed with somebody. Sleep with somebody," says Stewart. "I had a long-time boyfriend. That ended a couple years ago. And I haven't found the next Mr. Right."
"What we know we can get you is some great first dates," Yagan tells Stewart. "I think finding a soul mate for you might be a little bit difficult, but I think first dates are easily doable."
We smell new TV show -- "Martha Stewart's 50 First Dates."
Yagan advised Stewart against using her real name and photograph in her online profile, so don't think you can go trolling Martha Stewart's Match.com entry.
"I think it would be distracting to those initial conversations you have where everyone is going to be talking to Martha, as opposed to really getting to know the person first," says Yagan.
Stewart tells Matt Lauer what she's looking for in a match -- "Active," someone not necessarily limited by his age; "energetic, 'outdoorish,' really smart ... tall-ish."
Lauer then relays a story of running into Stewart at a baseball game and how a friend sitting with him wanted to be set up with Stewart. He didn't know her situation, so he wasn't sure what to do.
"For heaven's sake, I'll give you my phone number. All of them, I will give you," says an exasperated Stewart.
