Matt Ryan to miss Pro Bowl: Atlanta Falcons QB had sprained shoulder
The Pro Bowl is the NFL's all-star game, and Matt was slated to quarterback the NFC's team. However, The LA Times reports that he has been pulled from the game due to injury.
In the closing minutes of last Sunday's game, when the Falcons lost to the 49ers, Ryan was tackled, spraining his shoulder. He was able to finish the game, but was unable to complete a pass and score.
Now coach Mike Smith says Ryan will need three to four weeks to recover from the sprain, making him unavailable for the Pro Bowl. He will be replaced by Seattle Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Pro Bowl takes place January 27.
