Now that he's left "Doctor Who" behind, Matt Smith is able to look back objectively on his time with the series. During a Wizard World Comic Con appearance, Smith talked about what he thinks are the show's most creative moments, and then those times when everything didn't quite add up.
"For me, the best storytelling was in series five. It had great adventure and great clarity and I loved that whole idea about the Pandorica and the Big Bang," he told fans, according to Digital Spy. "It was the one I connected with most." Smith calls that first year "some of my best work because I was actually taking real risks and that was a real moment."
While that doesn't mean there were moments Smith didn't enjoy, there certainly were some that were a bit more confusing. "I think in terms of revelations, River being Amy's daughter was a bit 'what the hell?!'"
Now it's time for Peter Capaldi to make his "Doctor Who" memories, when he steps into the Doctor's shoes for Season 8, debuting later in the year on BBC America.
