At this point, Matthew McConaughey is more or less a shoe-in for the Academy Award for Best Actor, thanks to his work in "Dallas Buyers Club." After his epic acceptance speech at the 2014 Golden Globes, McConaughey is going to have to step up his game for the 2014 Oscars.

During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to promote "True Detective," the actor says he has some of the beats of his speech figured out, because he knows exactly how to play the crowd. "If I start with 'Alright, alright, alright' and 'Thank you', I really can't go wrong," he says.

According to McConaughey, it's already a foregone conclusion that another of his "Dazed and Confused" quotes will end up in the speech as well. "If I start with 'Alright, alright, alright," he explains, "it'll swing back, somehow, to 'Just keep livin'."

The 2014 Academy Awards are March 2.
