Matthew McConaughey weight loss: All the way down for 'Dallas Buyers Club'

matthew-mcconaughey-weight-loss-gi.jpg Matthew McConaughey begins filming his movie "The Dallas Buyers Club" next week, and he's already fully committed to the part.

Paparazzi snapped pictures of McConaughey catching a flight from Los Angeles to New Orleans Friday. The actor was looking gaunt and fragile -- appropriate for the role or Ron Woodroof, an AIDS patient who experimented with unapproved treatments in 1980s Dallas.

How thin? Well, the picture at the left is from August, when he had already started losing weight for the role. He looks noticeably skinnier in the shots taken Friday ( People has one), making one wonder if he's gone past the 30 pounds he was aiming to shed.

A source close to McConaughey tells People that he'll be able start putting weight back on in about a month.

"The Dallas Buyers Club" also stars Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto. It's scheduled for release sometime next year.
